WELCOME

Welcome to Dandeluxe Productions, where we tailor our style to all tastes...even the untamed. Rooted in movement, burlesque, and Jazz, Dandeluxe was created to celebrate Black artistry through storytelling, affirmation, and performance.

Whether you are a seasoned performer or a curious beginner, Dandeluxe is a place where dance is our chosen language and tool of expression. We welcome all who are interested in exploring themes of femininity, cultural expression, and stepping proudly into who we are called to be.

The Meaning of Dandeluxe

Dandeluxe is a fusion of Black Dandyism and Luxury

The coined term "Black Dandyism" is represented as an intentional presentation of elegance, individuality, and rebellion throug personal style. The Black Community reclaimed glamour, softness, and extravagance in a world that often required us to hide ourselves from  any eyes of attention.

Dandeluxe reimagines luxury as something deeply personal and liberating, not something that is reserved for only a small group. Luxury, itself, is defined and embodied by affirmation, self care, creativity, and sensuality.

Through dance and performance, Dandeluxe encourages Black women and all artists to take up space shamelessly, and to authentically explore your stylistic tastes. At Dandeluxe, there is no requirement, only reclamation. Join us, and explore your imagination.

Ryann L. Coleman

Founded by professional dancer, choreographer, educator, and creative producer, Ryann Lanae Coleman, Dandeluxe was born from her desire to merge movement, storytelling, and glamour into one artisict experience.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA and raised in the Historic Hill District, Ryann has had the immense honor of performing and being featured in theatres and artistic organizations such as the Kelly Strayhorn Theatre,  Benedum Center for the Performing Arts, and August Wilson African American Cultural Center. Her extensive training spans across many presigious institutions such as Philidelphia's University of the Arts, Philidanco, Hill District Academy Theatre, Civic Light Opera, and Point Park Dance Conservatory where she earned her B.F.A in Dance with a Jazz Concentration. She currently locally performers as a featured artist of Dr. Tumblety's Storyville Afterdark Live Performances where she fell in love with the art of Burlesque and created her muse "Coco Devereux."

Inspired by the rich African American history of Jazz and Musical Theatre, she naturally gravitated towards Burlesque. Her studies of the many historical "Black Beauties" featured across Vaudville and European stages gave her the vision needed to create Dandeluxe, knowing tha through every class, perfomance, and produciton, dance could inspire someone to embrace the beauty of being witnessed authentically.
